Licence

Last updated: September 2026

Copyright in everything here belongs to Holynt Technologies Private Limited from the moment it was written. This page records what we have chosen to license differently, which is two things: the writing, and the receipt verifier.

1. The blog: CC BY 4.0

Every post under /blog is licensed Creative Commons Attribution 4.0. You may copy, republish, translate and build on it, including commercially, provided you credit us.

To credit us: keep the author, the title, the date and the link. Each post carries a suggested citation and a BibTeX entry at the foot, ready to copy. If you republish a post, keep the link back to the original.

What this does not cover: material we quote from someone else stays under its owner's terms. Where a post quotes a paper, a filing, a figure or an article, the licence above covers our writing around it and not the quoted material.

2. The receipt verifier: Apache-2.0

The verifier is the JavaScript this site serves at /verify-v4. It is licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0. You may use, copy, modify and distribute it, including commercially, if you keep the licence and attribution notices.

It is licensed this way on purpose. A receipt that can only be checked by asking us is not evidence; anyone should be able to run the check. Full text: /verifier/LICENSE.

What this does not cover: the verification engine that issues receipts, the compiler, the log operator, and the rest of the site code. Those stay reserved under section 3.

3. Everything else: reserved

The following are not licensed for reuse, and the CC BY licence above does not extend to them:

  • The receipts. The signed records under /receipts are published so that anyone can check them, and checking is unrestricted. Republishing them as your own, or presenting an altered record as one of ours, is not permitted.
  • The software and the site. The verification engine that issues receipts, the compiler, and the site code other than the verifier in section 2 are proprietary. Nothing in them is licensed by this page.
  • The name and the marks. Turiya and Holynt are names and marks of the company. Copyright does not govern them; trademark does, and nothing here grants a trademark licence.

4. Reuse we have not covered

If you want to do something the licence does not permit, ask. Write to [email protected] and say what you want to do. We would rather answer than have you assume.

4. Why the writing is open

We sell verification. An argument about verification that nobody is allowed to quote is an argument we have made harder to check. The posts are the working, and the working should be quotable.

CC BY 4.0 is irrevocable. We chose it knowing that: a public licence that can be withdrawn when the writing becomes valuable is not a commitment, and this company's product is commitments.
